Casiotone for the Painfully Alone – Graceland
An excellent reinterpretation of Paul Simon’s classic. Owen Ashworth takes the pop sheen off the original melody, disregards the African funk groove and allows the sentiment behind the lyrics to come into focus in a way the original never did. Surprisingly uplifting. The new Casiotone for the Painfully Alone album, Advance Base Battery Life, is out 10 February on Tomlab Records.
