Yeasayer – ‘Wait for Summer’
Much was made of Yeasayer’s first single ’2080′ in the six months before their debut album All Hour Cymbals was released, but this record travels so many miles and twists across so many dynamics that while the aforementioned track may be the toast of bloggers everywhere, it probably wouldn’t even make it into my top five songs on this album. There really is something for everyone on here, a myriad of styles and sounds all linked together with fantastic harmonies befitting their unique take on apocalyptic celebrations. It may have been released back in October, but I expect this album to pick up a steady momentum amongst people’s most-listened to artists in 2008.
